The Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
The ATO
The ATO is the Government's principal revenue collection agency. The role of the ATO is to manage and shape the tax, excise and superannuation systems that fund services for Australians.
The ATO website is www.ato.gov.au
The ATO Tax Agent Portal and Business Portal
The ATO offers 2 online access points for access to the online records of all registered businesses and taxpayers within Australia.
- The Tax Agent Portal - https://tap.ato.gov.au/
- The Tax Agent Portal is a secure website where registered agents and their authorised staff can access a range of tools, services and information about clients' records. For Nine Advisory to access client records via the ATO Portal, the client needs to have our registered tax agent number listed against their records in the ATO systems.
- Help with using the Tax Agent Portal can be found here - http://portalhelp.ato.gov.au/TAP/TA/
- The Business Portal - https://bp.ato.gov.au/
- The Business Portal is the gateway to ATO online services for businesses. It provides easy and convenient access to information and allows you to conduct transactions with us in a secure online environment.
- Here, businesses can access their own accounts and information stored with the ATO.
- Unlike the Tax Agent Portal, businesses cannot access anyone else's information other than their own
